KCPS bringing students into digital age with individual laptops |

The Kansas City Public School District is waiting for its first order of laptops to arrive. The Kansas City School District Board of Trustees has agreed to give every student a laptop or tablet computer in the upcoming school year. Providing the district\'s 17,000 students with computers and tablets will cost the district $7 million annually. It announced earlier this summer that every student in the district will get a laptop computer this school year, but not all educators think the move will help kids learn. The first bunch of laptops will be handed out to students sometime late this month or early September. |
