A Queensland state school program could leave some parents several thousand dollars out of pocket, with tablets and laptops to be made compulsory in an inner-city Brisbane school from next year. All pupils at Milton State School will be required to bring their own devices to school – an iPad for those in Years 1 to 3 and a laptop for those in Years 4 to 6. A Department of Education, Training and Employment spokesman said the requirement of the Bring Your Own Device (BYOx) program had been supported by the school\'s advisory council and was in place in several schools across the state. |
