Until this year, high school students in the rural South African village of Qibira attended classes in a sheep-shearing shed. Without electricity, toilets or running water, conditions were grim and illnesses commonplace. And when monsoonal rains poured through the multiple leaks in the structure's roof, teachers and students were forced to set up shop in the village church. |
