GOLETA — Education could be the solution to the world's biggest problems, Nicholas Negroponte said in the multipurpose room of a Goleta elementary school Friday. Negroponte, known for starting Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Lab and the force behind the One Laptop Per Child project, has made it a mission to get millions of inexpensive, rugged laptops into the hands of children to connect them with the world at large. |
