Technological impact: School improving after grant

While their academic performance hasn't seen much of an upward shift, current Midland Valley High School sophomores have seen a sharp decrease in disciplinary referrals since the introduction of a major laptop initiative 14 months ago.
The referrals dropped in number by 31 percent in spring 2008 and by another 57 percent last semester, principal Dr. Doris Hickson told the Aiken County School Board during a presentation Tuesday. |
