| AUGUSTA -- Seven high schools counting on federal funds to purchase Apple laptops for students will have to rethink their plans for buying the machines. The federal government has denied Maine a waiver that would have allowed high schools to use Title I funds to buy laptops, a state Department of Education spokesman said Friday. Title I funds are aimed at low-income students. |
