| Grant covers laptops for kids RISD gets $500,000 grant for intermediate campus |

| Rusk Independent School District has been approved for a Vision 20-20 grant worth $500,000. Lesa Jones, executive director of finance told the Rusk ISD board Monday evening, "We were notified today that we have been awarded the grant. We don't know exactly how much money we will receive, but it should be at least half a million dollars." The funds will be used for technology at the intermediate campus. "All our students on the campus will receive a laptop computer. We will have a year of training and the students should get the laptops by the end of next year," Mrs. Jones said. |
