Schools grapple with effective filters while using laptops |

For all the ambitious, yet cautious, steps forward Farmington Municipal Schools takes to teach area children, a few dark and sinister consequences poke out their heads. More than 3,000 Farmington students use district-issued laptops, and collectively they log millions of Web site hits each day. In turn, the district provides filters to block inappropriate content, but the filters are not fool proof, a fact that has raised concerns with parents. |
