Holland, MI — Holland parent Susan Broekhuizen has become a computer-savvy mom, since her three children got laptops. But it hasn’t been easy. “It was very intimidating, especially when you as the parent do not have the knowledge, or gift, of understanding that particular technology,” she said. As miniature netbooks and tablet computers flood the market at under $500, more educators are seeing portable computing as the future of education. In fact, two area school districts this year may be asking their communities to put a computer in the backpack of every student. |
