For the pupils of Writhlington School, the exercise book and pen may soon be items only mentioned in their history lessons. Because after the Easter Holidays, every single child will be issued with their own personal laptop. In what is understood to be a first for British state schools, all 1,400 youngsters at the Somerset secondary school will be given a Dell Netbook worth around £400 to use in lessons and for home work. |
