It's the school that never sleeps. The city's first 24-hour elementary school is taking root in The Bronx, where 591 students will soon have their own laptops and home Internet access - free of charge. The pilot program at PS 5 in Mott Haven became possible through recent advances in technology - starting with the sturdy-but-cheap mini-laptop, the $200 XO. |
