Laptops are not what our kids need |

In a culture that thirsts after technology but seldom pauses to think of its consequences, Idaho Superintendent Tom Luna's plan for education is not surprising. Just disappointing. Luna's Students Come First initiative appears to equate technology with efficiency, which is not always the case. For example, beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, "all ninth-graders will receive a laptop as part of their educational experience." Students will also be required to take two online courses per year. This opens a Pandora's box of issues... |
