Northern schools embrace iMac revolution |
Posted by: Susan Einhorn |
STUDENTS are taking Apple iMacs, not books, home from two northern schools. Mark Oliphant College has introduced a trial with Year 7 and 8 students to take home their school laptops. Principal Lynne Symons said the scheme was proving a hit with children and their families. “We are looking at every way possible we can get high-end technology into the hands of our children,” Ms Symons said. “We had many parents and students asking if they could take the computers home, as many don’t have a computer at home or it is shared between the whole family.” The scheme works on a rental system costing parents rge$100 a term or $350 for the year. |
