When a classroom full of kids in Port Neches Middle School is told to start work on a history assignment, half of them reach under their desks and pull out 1½-inch textbooks while others look at their district-provided laptops. It's a case of old habits dying hard. Principal Kyle Hooper said as much as students love the technology, they still have a habit of first reaching for a textbook in class. But it's probably not for long, as textbooks lose ground to technology. |
