| The School Committee cleared the way for every teacher and student to be connected with their own device starting next fall--with parents sharing the cost with the district. Superintendent Bradford L. Jackson first raised the idea of achieving a 1 to 1 computing ratio at HHS nearly two years ago. At the time, the idea of sharing costs with parents was a novel one--it landed Holliston on Boston TV news shows--and the capital expenses associated with building the infrastructure much higher. Meanwhile, other districts, including those nearby, have embraced both the computers-for-all goal and the cost-sharing approach to achieve it. “The idea that was rare when we introduced it 22 months ago is now becoming more commonplace," he added. |
