| Computing the value of laptops |

| Colleen Prendergast has waited almost four years to have her own laptop. The Benton High School senior said it would have been great to have had one when she was a freshman. “We started trying to incorporate technology my freshman year. Every other class we used a computer for something, and we always had to wait or go to the library,” she said. “If we had had our own computers, it definitely would have helped a lot.” Come January, every student at Benton will get his or her very own laptop computer. The St. Joseph School District will pilot a program this year to give laptops to every student in four schools. |
