Laptops for Mt. Vernon Students |

Tuesday was a big day for students at Casey Middle School in Mt. Vernon. Each one of them is picking up a brand new laptop computer. Assistant Superintendent Tyler Brown says the district purchased more than 1,050 computers give to students in grades three through eight. "Most of our early elementary kids haven't lived in a world without smart phones. We feel like being able to bring them in a classroom with technology in which they're already comfortable, they will be able to learn a lot more," said Brown. Eighth graders got their computers first. After learning the basics of turning on the device, they learned to take a picture to save as their desktop. This will help teachers identify each unit. |
