Parkland students may soon take laptops, Kindles to class |

Personal laptops, Facebook, iPads, Twitter. Technologies and social media outlets typically on the warning list may soon be on the welcome list at Parkland schools. School district officials recently unveiled a three-year technology plan that could ultimately allow students to use personal laptops, Kindles and social media in the classroom. "We know it's time to start opening things up and giving students access to tools they use when they get home," said Tracy Smith, the district's assistant to the superintendent for operations. |
