BYOT? Students May Be Asked To Bring Technology From Home |

Pickens County High School is brand new this year and it's use of technology is on the cutting edge. In the multi-tiered computer lab, students are designing webpages. In one science class they're using personal cell phones to text in answers to a teacher's multiple choice questions. Another science teacher uses a computer to help test the PH level of different solutions. Teachers here control presentations from an iPad. The entire building has wi fi. But all that technology comes with a cost. The 7 thousand student laptops purchased by the district cost $1 million each year. The possible solution? B.Y.O.T. |
