This project was born from a Venezuela-Portugal agreement. First computers were imported from this European country. Then, the plan made progress in developing the assembly plants at home. Later, this initiative points to manufacturing the parts in Venezuela and exportation. Short and mid-term goals From 2010, personal computer allocation to Venezuelan kids was limited to the school spaces: classrooms. Now, every child can take a laptop home since second grade, after having learned the previous year to handle and take care of it. The next goal is to finish supply of all primary school children, from the second grade onwards, which is intended to do this year, according to Arreaza's statement. |
